Part L Compliance Calcs for the Construction of New Properties

At the design stage of a new construction a certificate needs to be completed and submitted to your Building Control Body or Approved Inspector at the same time as your Building Control Application.

Upon completion of the construction it is the responsibility of the person carrying out the construction ton to provide Building Control and the owner of the building with a ´pass´ certificate.

If a building is being modified or extended and includes the provision or extension of fixed services such as heating, air con or ventilation then an EPC is required for
Building Control and the owner of the building.

An Energy Performance Certificate must be provided by the seller or prospective
landlord to any prospective buyers or tenants.

Energy Performance Certificates have been introduced to advise potential buyers
and leaseholders of the energy performance of a building they may wish to occupy.
This can provide them with important information about the building such as; the energy efficiency, potential energy bills and possible improvements that could be made.
